Police Chief Paul Ferreira has promoted seven sergeants and detectives to the rank of lieutenant, effective Friday:
• Lt. Brian Prudencio, a 21-year veteran, is now assigned to Administration – CALEA (Accreditation). He most recently served as a detective in the Office of Professional Standards — the department’s internal affairs unit—and previously worked in Juvenile Aid Section and Vice Section and patrol assignments in South Hilo and Ka‘u.
• Lt. Grant Todd, a 21-year veteran, is assigned to South Hilo Patrol. He most recently served as a detective in Hilo Criminal Investigation Section, and previously worked in the Vice Section, with patrol assignments in South Hilo and Kona districts.
• Lt. Paul Kim, a 17-year veteran, is now assigned to South Hilo Patrol. He most recently served as a sergeant assigned to the Special Response Team, and previously worked in the Traffic Enforcement Unit, with patrol assignments in South Hilo and South Kohala districts.
• Lt. Levon Stevens, a 16-year veteran, is now assigned to Kona Patrol. He most recently served as detective in Hilo Vice Section, and previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section, with patrol assignments in North Kohala and Puna districts.
• Lt. Pernell Hanoa, a 16-year veteran, is now assigned to Juvenile Aid Section (Kona). He most recently served as a sergeant in Ka‘u Patrol, and previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section, with patrol assignments in the Ka‘u and Kona districts.
• Lt. Bobbie-Jo Sagon, a 15-year veteran, is now assigned to Kona Patrol. She most recently served as a detective in Hilo Juvenile Aid Section (Hilo), and previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section and the Criminal Intelligence Unit, with patrol officer assignments in South Kohala.
Lt. Bryan Tina, a 15-year veteran, is now assigned to South Kohala Patrol. He most recently served as a sergeant in Puna Patrol, and previously worked as a School Resource Officer, with patrol officer assignments in the Puna and Kona districts.
